Hey, It's Me, Pete. They guy who forgets to blog.
Youth Ministry at St. Rose is rocking on along. During the month of October we had several fun activities. Last week several of our teens participated in the National day of pro life silent solidarity. They joined with students across the nation and wore red armbands to school that said "life". They did this to make a public witness to being pro life.
Also this last week, several of our teens from Life Teen went out to the Haunted Woods in Chapel Hill for a bit of a Halloween scare. We wanted to go out to the railroad tracks too and try and see the alleged "ghost light" but we ran out of time. However, the idea of doing that gave me another idea for a book I should write entitled "Things that Baptist Youth Groups would never do!" Last Sunday our Edge (jr. high) program went out to the Corn Maze in Lascassas. We had hot dogs over the fire and went on hay rides too! Many of the families of the kids joined us and it was alot of fun.
This month coming up I will be travelling to Columbus, OH with 14 of our teens for NCYC (National Catholic Youth Convention). It should be a great time! We also have our second XLT night at the end of November and on November 6th will be the second "Apologhetti" night. This is a spaghetti dinner followed by a presentation on a catholic apologetics topic. This months topic is "One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic. How to show that the Catholic Church is the Church established by Christ." I will be giving the presentation again this time.
We are also taking registrations for our ski trip in January. Cost is $220 and registrations are due by December 9th. The trip will be January 18-20. It is open to 8-12 grade students. Contact me immediately if you want to go!
Ok, that is all for now. In the future I will make sure I keep this blogup better and I will try to start writing more blogs about specific Catholic topics!
Until Next time...
Pete
